We
started Indiana Paranormal Investigations after running
around with another group in Indiana and determining
that some groups just arent in this for the right reasons
or dont behave as professionally as they claim.
We have made
several connections with sensitives, a demonologist, and other
like-minded people who are interested in the paranormal that
help us, when needed, on any given investigation. We like to
travel, and have collaborated with groups in Kentucky, Illinois,
and Orlando Ghost Tours in Florida. We are currently working with a local production company on ideas for documentaries on haunted locations.
My favorite
part of being a paranormal investigator is the historical research,
and uncovering pieces of history that otherwise go unnoticed.
I have always been interested in the paranormal, from that first
ghost book I read over and over, to now, where we arrange every
vacation to include an allegedly haunted location.
We have collected some interesting evidence up to this point,
and have talked to many different people who have had some amazing
experiences, but I remain fairly skeptical. You have to keep
an open mind, but without compromising your common sense.

What
got you into ghost hunting?
Living in our home in Fishers and experiencing the strange sounds, sights,
and even apparitions we had there.
What experiences have you had?
Everyone in the house has had numerous experiences with orbs both on film and
physically seeing them. We have also experienced mists, footsteps, cold winds,
and unexplained smells. We even had terrible electrical problems that the power
company couldn't explain. I have been scratched, bruised and made to feel uncomfortable
by one of the entities. Most of our ghosts are curious and even protective.
My husband has seen James (one of the ghosts that we were able to identify)
in his civil war uniform.
Out in the
field, I have been breathed on, and in one occurrence at a haunted
barn I was standing in the loft when someone yelled, Its
going over there! and at that moment I felt a rush, or
as if someone blew in my ear. Those are only two of many paranormal
experiences I have had during investigations.
How long have you been investigating?
I have been doing this work for at least 4 yrs. Before that, I began by documenting
the activity in my own home.
What famous haunted locations have you
visited?
Andersonville prison in Georgia (an old civil war prison), Central State Hospital
in Indianapolis, Excalibur Night Club in Chicago, Graceland in Memphis, The
Mississippi Queen, which is a paddlewheel boat, and Crown Hill cemetery in
Indianapolis, as well as countless other cemeteries.
How do you sense ghosts?
I suppose the best way to describe the way I sense them is, they come to talk.
This sounds crazy but this is how it happens. I do not consider this a gift,
but a privilege. Sometimes my interpretations are right and sometimes I am
wrong.

Mike, co-founder
and technical expert
I joined a local group and have been investigating haunted locations for 10 years. I am considered the technical expert. My day job is a low voltage systems contractor, and I own my own business. I have an Electrical Engineering degree from Purdue University and it is my job to keep up with technology when it comes to cameras, recording equipment and their capabilities in all situations. I learned a couple of years ago that my grandmother was a medium who conducted séances in her home. Unfortunately, I was never able to meet her, but I feel a connection to her through my interest in the paranormal. I don't consider myself psychic, but I have had some strange experiences. I would like to develop my natural abilities, and I have taken some classes to aid me in my studies.
